Welcome to
Potty Mouth Quilting

About Me

Hi folks - my name is Malgosia (Magosha). Nice to meet you!
I've been sewing for most of my life and discovered quilting in 2015. What began as a hobby quickly became a lasting passion, and I launched Potty Mouth Quilting to help others finish their projects with care, precision and a bit of personality!
I operate a small, cozy longarm quilting studio in Lanark County, serving quilters in Ottawa and the surrounding area. Alongside running Potty Mouth Quilting, I'm currently a student at the University of Ottawa.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss an upcoming project! I'd love to hear from you!
What I Offer
Edge to Edge
$0.035 per square inch
For example, if your finished quilt top is 60 inches by 70 inches, multiply 60 in. x 70 in. for your total square inches. Then multiply your total square inches by $0.035 to get the estimated cost for your quilting services. For example:
60 in. x 70 in. = 4,200 sq. in.
4,200 sq. in. x $.035 = $147
*There is a minimum loading fee of $50.00.
Door-to-Door Pick-up and Delivery
To make things simple and consistent, all quilts are now handled through at-home pick-up and delivery. When you book with Potty Mouth Quilting, I will arrange to collect your quilt and return it to you once it’s finished.
A flat $25 pick-up and delivery fee applies to each quilt.
Rush Fee
A rush fee of $25 will be applied if you need your quilt within a week.
Quilt Backing
If you would like me to piece your quilt back for you (no pattern matching), there is a $25 charge.
If you would like me to piece your quilt back for you (with pattern matching), there is a $50 charge.
Your quilt backing should be at least 4 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides. For example, if you quilt top is 60 x 70 inches, your quilt back should be at least 68 x 78 inches.
Batting
I currently provide 1 batting option:
Hobbs Hierloom Bleached 100% cotton, 96 inches long at $0.75 per inch
Preparing Your Quilt
Iron and Trim
Iron your quilt top and backing in order to minimize creases and ensure the fabric is flat. Do your best to trim any stray threads as they can sometimes show through the lighter fabrics in the quilt top.
Backing and Batting
It is very important that your backing fabric is 8” longer and 8” wider than your quilt top (4” on each side). The batting should be at least 6" longer and 6" wider than your quilt top (3" on each side). Finally, try to square up your backing fabric so it is square and even.
Label the Top
Don't forget to label the top of your backing fabric and the top of your quilt top. Then gently fold your quilt top and backing (or hang it on a clothes hanger) and I'll take it from there!

FAQ
WHERE SHOULD I DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP MY QUILT?
Once you submit the online quilt form, I will reach out to you regarding pick-up and drop off.
A $25 flat fee will be added to all orders to cover travel and handling.
Please Note: Fabrications is no longer willing to act as a pick-up/drop-off location.
HOW DO I PAY FOR YOUR SERVICE?
Once your quilt is finished I will send you an invoice. You can pay through Paypal or by eTransfer.
DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM QUILTING FEE?
Yes. If your quilt is smaller than 50x50 inches there is a minimum cost of $50. This is because it still takes time to load your quilt and get the computer setup.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL TURNAROUND TIME FOR A QUILT?
Your quilt will be done within 3 weeks, although I always aim to have them done sooner. If you need a quilt done ASAP, a rush fee of $25 will be applied to your bill.
